About Discover West Norfolk
"Discover West Norfolk" is a group of local tourist businesses from attractions to pubs, who first began to work together in 1984, making this the oldest tourist group in the area.
Originally a group known as HAPPI (Hunstanton Area Publicity, Promotion & Information) covering only the Hunstanton area, over the years the membership has gradually grown and now several members come from well outside the Hunstanton Area. The name HAPPI is still used within the group, but externally, as on this website, and on the promotional stickers on the leaflet racks, the group is promoted as representative of West Norfolk as whole.
The original aims were to organise a local leaflet distribution scheme, with racks for display, and for all members to network with each other and help promote other members to their own visitors. Both these aims still form the core of DWN today, though the group now also runs this its own website.
DWN hosts an AGM, as well as a summer social event. At both of these members throughout west Norfolk can all come along and meet each other, exchange information and network with other members, usually with refreshment and some form of entertainment!
With a wide membership and some enthusiastic members, DWN is an active group with a tried and tested formula for promoting business for its members.
